Bar Primi is an Italian pasta shop created by Chef Andrew Carmellini and NoHo Hospitality Group. Located on the Bowery in the former Peels location, Taavo's creative starting point incorporated his learnings, the things he had always wanted to change, and the client's request of wanting the space to feel 'non-designed'. Wanting to retain existing, or 'old' elements, he intentionally layered the new over the old to create contrast. The end result was a completely reimagined space while still retaining the existing layout. Photography: Noah Fecks
